Hi there, 

I’m Monica, and together with my husband Peter, I am passionate about raising awareness and funds for Ovarian Cancer research. Our journey with Ovarian Cancer began in 2017 when I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Ovarian Cancer. Thankfully, my diagnosis came early, and I have not experienced a recurrence to date.

Being diagnosed relatively young opened my eyes to the lack of awareness about Ovarian Cancer, and Peter and I felt called to make a difference. Since then, we have organised five fundraisers, raising over $75,000. Our events not only raise vital funds but also provide a platform to educate others about the importance of early detection and ongoing research.

The money raised has been provided to the Westmead Institute of Medical Research (WIMR) to support research and initiatives aimed at finding different treatments.

I participated in research conducted by the incredible gynaecological team at WIMR. Led by Professor Anna DeFazio, this team focuses on developing treatments for the different types of Ovarian Cancer. This opportunity deepened my understanding of the importance of early detection and the critical need for research funding to save lives.

Through our efforts, we hope to inspire others to join us in this mission. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and move closer to a future where Ovarian Cancer no longer takes lives prematurely. Thank you for visiting and supporting this cause close to our hearts.
